After Stranger ThingsMillie Bobby Brown will fight a dragon in Damselan upcoming fantasy film on Netflix that has expanded its cast.
If it landed in theaters with Godzilla II: King of the Monsters and Godzilla vs. Kong, actress Millie Bobby Brown will mostly stay under the Netflix umbrella. After being revealed in the first season of Stranger Things, which recently unveiled the first trailer for season 4, the actress should return to her role in a fifth and final season and maybe even in a future spin-off as rumors have it. Before that, she will also reprise her role as a budding detective in Enola Holmes 2the first part of which was picked up by Netflix in the wake of the pandemic and the optics of landing a new franchise.

In addition to pursuing his career in front of the camera, Millie Bobby Brown will also persevere as an executive producer with Damsel. This next film will be directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, a filmmaker nominated for an Oscar in 1997 for his short film Esposados who also made 28 weeks later and Intruders, his last feature film to have landed in theaters. The screenplay will be written by Dan Mazeau (Wrath of the Titans) and will follow the damsel of the title who agrees to marry a prince, but discovers that she has actually been offered as a sacrifice to repay an old debt. She is therefore thrown into the depths of a cave inhabited by a dragon which she will have to survive.

In addition to Millie Bobby Brown, who should most certainly camp the damsel in question, Angela Bassett has also been announced for the casting in a still unknown role. More recently, Deadline reported that the cast grew with the arrival of Robin Wright aka Claire Underwood in House of Cards, Netflix’s former flagship title. The eight-time Emmy Award-nominated actress who also stood out in Forrest Gump, Princess Bride, Unbreakable or The strategist will star actor Ray Winstone, who recently set foot in the MCU with Black Widow and starred in the remake of point break, Infiltrators and King Arthur.

Next is Shohreh Aghdashloo, who is a familiar face on the small screen (The Flight Attendant, The Expanse, The Punisher, 24 hour clock) and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture House of Sand and Fog. The latest to join the cast are Nick Robinson (Love, Simon, Shadow in the Cloud) who notably played the unbearable teenager in Jurassic Worldand the young Brooke Carter who appeared in an episode of Baker Street Irregularsthe Netflix series derived from the universe of Sherlock Holmes and canceled after one season.
If she is not guaranteed to return to the Monsterverse, Millie Bobby Brown should return to the big screen with the film The Girls I’ve Been and the drama of Wanuri Kahiu, The Thing About Jellyfish for Universal.
