What are the vehicles that have been most popular with the French since the beginning of the year?
The automotive market continues to plummet. After two years of crisis due to Covid-19 and shortages of semiconductors, sales fell 34% in the first three months of the year compared to 2019. This is the worst quarter for forty years in France. In the midst of this general breakdown, some models are still doing well. The Peugeot 208 continues to be popular with the French with more than 21,875 units sold since January 1, 2022 according to data published by the Automotive Platform (PFA) and AAA Data. It is the only model to exceed the 20,000 new registrations mark for the first quarter of 2022.
The best-selling lion brand is ahead of the Citroën C3 and the Renault Clio. The Dacia Sandero, the cheapest car in France, takes fourth place in this ranking. Fifth, the Peugeot 2008 II still stands out as the best-selling SUV in France.
