Words that echo several clashes between Anne Sophie Lapix and the far-right party. In 2012, the journalist – at the time on Canal + – received Marine Le Pen in “Dimanche +”, then candidate for the first time in the presidential election. In the middle of the campaign, the politician was annoyed by the flood of questions from the presenter, going so far as to reproach her for wanting to give her “a lesson in economics”. More recently, on Thursday March 3, there was a new tense exchange between Marine Le Pen and Anne Sophie Lapix under the eyes of viewers. On the set of “Élysée 2022”, the presenter of “20 Heures” questioned the candidate on current events in Ukraine. “Your question is unbearable”, retorted the candidate of the national rally, before adding that the “your” of his interlocutor “implies things that directly affect his honor and consideration”. For his part, Emmanuel Macron has not yet reacted. Strongly criticized for his absence from the France 2 sets, the candidate denied any form of boycott of the channel or its journalists. “We make choices” commented his communications team.
Gilles Bouleau and Léa Salamé will lead the debate between the two rounds
After an active role in the media coverage of the presidential election by France 2, Anne-Sophie Lapix will not be one of the hosts of the debate between Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen, broadcast on Wednesday April 20. The exchange which will see the candidates, winners of the first round, opposing each other, will be led by Gilles Bouleau of TF1 and Léa Salamé for France 2.
This is not the first time that candidates have vetoed. In 2017, Marine Le Pen also opposed the presence of Anne Claire Coudray, journalist from TF1, for the debate between the two rounds.
